Flight to Bangalore, IndiaDay 1:Your journey begins by checking-in at Taj West End and enjoying a High-tea at the banquet hall. After pre-boarding formalities, visit Chitrakala Parishad. Report for check-in to board the train. Departure from Bangalore - Yeshwanthpur. Wine & dine onboard. The capital of Karnataka is known as the Garden City because of its salubrious climate and greenery. Perched 3,250 feet above sea level, temperatures seldom exceed 30C. Founded by Kempegowda, a powerful chieftain, the city is unique with its rich cultural heritage that coexists with its modern day technological and industrial achievements. Today Bangalore is popularly known as India's Silicon Valley.
Mysore-Kabini-BandipurDay 2: After enjoying a scrumptious breakfast, depart for Kabini/Bandipur (A World of Wildlife). Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nagarhole (Kabini), the hunting retreat of the Mysore Maharajas, is definitely the perfect destination for wildlife lovers in South India. The excitement starts with a safari into the heart of the park, where you are sure to spot wild animals in their natural habitat. Enjoy lunch at the Jungle Lodges & Resorts. Hop on board a Jungle/Boat Safari and enjoy a screening of a wildlife film in the evening. Enjoy the comforts of the Jungle Lodges and Resorts as you spend the night.
Mysore, Brindavan GardensDay 3: After breakfast depart for Mysore, lunch on board. Mysore sightseeing: Mysore Palace (Srirangapatnam). Reach Brindavan Gardens for cultural show followed by dinner at the Hotel. The Mysore Palace was built in Indo-Saracenic style with domes, turrets, arches and colonnades, the Palace is a treasure house of exquisite carvings and works of art from all over the world. The magnificent jewel - studded golden throne of the Wodeyars is displayed here during the Dasara festival. Brindavan Gardens: Located at the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam, Brindavan Gardens is one of the best gardens in South India. Spread over 150 acres, Brindavan Gardens has since the 1960s provided the backdrop for many Indian films.
Mysore - HassanDay 4: After an early breakfast depart for Hassan. Depart for sightseeing to Shravanabelagola to visit the famous Jain Temple. After lunch onboard the train, drive to Halebidu / Belur (A World of Worship) for sightseeing. Return to the train, and have dinner onboard after which begin your journey to Hospet. Belur in Hassan district (220 km from Bangalore and 38 km from Hassan) is famous for its magnificent Hoysala Temple Complex. The Chennakesava Temple here is the major attraction, built by Hoysala Vishnuvardhana, to commemorate his victory over the Cholas. The facade of the temple is filled with intricate sculptures with no portion left blank. It is the only Hoysala Temple still in active worship.
Hospet-HampiDay 5: Arrive at Hospet early in the morning and then drive up the hill for breakfast. Return to the train and head to Hampi (A World Heritage Site). Sightseeing today includes the Virupaksha Temple, Queen’s Bath and Elephant Stables. Enjoy lunch onboard then depart again for sightseeing. After a dinner onboard the train departs for Bandami. If dreams were made out of stone, it would be Hampi. Hampi has been classified as a World Heritage Center and is one of the major tourist destinations in India. Hampi, the seat of the famed Vijayanagara Empire was the capital of the largest empire in post-moghul India, covering several states. The Vijayanagara Empire stretched over at least three states - Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. The destruction of Vijayanagar by marauding Moghul invaders was sudden, shocking and absolute.
Badami - GoaDay 6: Arrive at Bandami early in the morning and then drive to Bandami Caves & Pattadakal. Enjoy lunch onboard after which you will begin your journey to beautiful Goa. Badami is picturesquely situated at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills. The exquisite sculptures and the rust red sandstone cliffs of Badami tell many a tale of yore. The first sculptural embellishment to dazzle the eye is the 18 armed Nataraja striking 81 dance poses. Pattadakal, with its beautifully chiselled temples is a World Heritage Site located on the banks of the Malaprabha River.
Goa - BangaloreDay 7: After a nice breakfast onboard , The Golden Chariot departs for sightseeing. Visit the famous churches of old Goa, visit an old Portuguese house: Sola Souto Maior for tea/coffee and cookies; shopping at the emporium. Reach Majorda Beach Resort for lunch and in the evening have an Ayurvedic massage, a visit to the casino, a dip in the pool / beach, etc. (Ayurvedic massage and casino charges extra as applicable). In the evening leave the resort and return to the train for dinner and then head to Bangalore.
Bangalore - DepartureDay 8: Have a nice breakfast onboard The Golden Chariot. As the train reaches Yeswanthpur railway station, bid farewell to the entire crew.
